Overview:
Planetary ball mills are compact benchtop instruments designed for laboratory-scale sample preparation. This high-performance grinding system utilizes a unique planetary motion mechanism to reduce materials to nano-scale fineness. The grinding jars are eccentrically mounted on a sun wheel, rotating in opposite direction at speed ratios of 1:-2 or 1:-1.5. This configuration generates powerful Coriolis forces, creating a synergistic effect of impact and friction forces for ultra-fine particle size reduction.
Working Principle:
The TENCAN Mini Planetary Ball Mill features four working stations capable of holding 2-4 grinding jars simultaneously. During operation, the jars perform high-speed planetary movements, causing intense collision between grinding balls and materials. This process efficiently pulverizes samples to as fine as 0.1μm through either dry or wet grinding methods.
